Justin Wright seizes Men’s 200m butterfly gold – Swimming news
Justin Wright of Fresno Dolphins seized gold medal of Men’s 200m butterfly on concluding day of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at George F. Haines International Swim Center on Sunday, June 2.
16-year-old Wright showed no mercy to his opponents in the distant butterfly discipline, as he tapped the wall for gold medal. He gained a comfortable lead over his supporters and pocketed the title.
With his impeccable pace, Wright remained only an arm stroke ahead of his following swimmer and reached the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 57.90 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Tom Luchsinger of UN-NC, who as 0.36 seconds apart and clocked a time of 1 minute and 58.26 seconds for silver medal.
Luchsinger was followed by Tyler Clary of Club Wolverine-M, who was only an inch behind and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal with the timing of 1 minute and 58.53 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Dan Madwed of Club Wolverine-M, who was 1.25 seconds behind and settled on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 59.78 seconds.
Subsequently, Madwed was chased by Tom Kremer of Una MP-PC, who was just 0.13 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 59.91 seconds for fifth place.
Sixth finest spot of the race was obtained by Bobby Bollier of Stanford Swimming, who was only 0.09 seconds slower and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.00 seconds.
The 23-year-old Bollier was followed by Nico van Duijn of Switzerland-SUI, who was only 0.07 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 00.07 seconds for seventh position.
Duijn was traced by Michael Klueh of Club Wolverine-M, who remained marginally slower from upsetting his former finisher. Klueh stayed 0.25 seconds behind and hit the wall for eighth position with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.32
seconds.
In addition, Wright received a huge round of applause from the crowd for his notable efforts while the position holders received accolades after the conclusion of session.
