Question:

Juvenile Legal Guidance?

I'm 15, almost 16, and recently, my parents lied to me to get me to come stay with my Mom.. and now my parents won't let me come back to live with my Dad. My Mom has no job, lives on food stamps, no car, and is heavily medicated for stress. I hate living here with her, and I wanted to know what I can do/if I can do anything legally so that my father must legally have me living with him. Thanks.

  1. No - you can't force your father to allow you to live in his home. Your only other option is to report your living situation to CPS and if it's as bad as you say, you'll go into the system - which is not a happy place.....and could very likely be MUCH worse and more damaging than where you are now. It's unfortunate that your mom has these problems but kids everywhere live in similiar situations. What you need to do is live it out for the next two years, study hard and resolve NEVER to be in the situation that your mom is in.
