There has been a lot of talk going on about the contenders for the Scudetto during this current campaign, and it only seems fair to analyse their credentials.
The Bianconeri outfit has had a lot to deal with in the past three to four months. The Turin outfit finally became the Champions of Italy for the first time since the Calciopoli incident stripped them off two Scudetti titles, one of 2004-05 season and the
other of 2005-06 season. The mannerism in which the Scudetto was won has been typical of the Juventus philosophy; however, they were the surprise of the season as Milan were the favourites to lift the trophy during the last season.
Two consecutive seasons in the mediocrity of the Serie A, which saw them finish in the seventh position in the 2009-10 season and 2010-11 season, did not give much hope to the Turin faithful of beholding any hopes of being the Scudetto holding for any campaigns
in the near future.
However, the arrival of the mastermind of Siena’s fortunes, Antonio Conte, gave all the clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 a run for their money, as he went out to set up an extremely efficient mind set in his players. Fresh from the high of leading Siena into the Serie A,
the former Juventus player opted to start coaching for his side and went on about his work in the utmost efficient and hardworking manner.
Furthermore, the former Bari tactician was well aware of the values and expectations of the club, especially, given the fact that he was a player with the Bianconeri outfit during his playing days as well.  The creatively gifted and attacking midfielder
was also a firm fan’s favourite at the club, and was welcomed with open arms by the Turin faithful.
Conte replaced Luigi Delneri as the head coach of the Italian giants at the start of the 2011-12 campaign. With him at the helm, Juventus went on to create record after record. Nobody could have predicted that the Turin outfit would be challenging for the
top spots of the Serie A, especially given the fact that they had come in the seventh position for two seasons prior to his arrival at the club.
The core squad of the team remained the same under Antonio Conte; however, he made two extremely shrewd signings while undertaking his managerial duties at the club. He went on to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760 from Bayer Leverkusen and also signed Andre Pirlo from their
rivals, AC Milan. Pirlo proved to be the deciding factor in their Scudetto victory, as the Italian international went on to defy his age and put in stellar performances, year in and year out. Furthermore, he was also had the highest number of assists in the
Serie A for the 2011-12 season, with an impressive 13 assists through the campaign.
His commanding performances were the reason why the Bianconeri outfit went on such a good run. However, a thing working in the favour of the Italian champions was the fact that they did not have to contend with European football. They had more rest, and
played fewer games then the other teams vying for the top honours. Nevertheless, staying unbeaten through the course of the season, is an extremely impressive feat and Juventus also had the best defence in the Italian league, conceding the lowest number of
goals throughout the season.
