Juventus: Beppe Marotta delighted with Antonio Conte’s output and the new stadium – Serie A Update
Juventus General Manager, Giuseppe “Beppe” Marotta, expressed his pleasure on having Antonio Conte as the head coach at the Juventus Arena. Conte has been able to give two back-to-back victories to the Turin giants in the first two Serie A games.
However, Juve lost their first points of the season after the 1-1 stalemate against Bologna at home.
The General Manager believes that the new stadium is a step ahead in the game as it explains the financial dominance and stability of La Vecchia Signora. The Turin giants had a grand launch ceremony of the new stadium prior to the start of the 2011/12 season
and a friendly game against the English outfit, Notts County.
Juve did not win that opening friendly at the new stadium and the first victory at the new arena was the Serie A season opener. Juventus thrashed the fellow Italian outfit, Parma FC, 4-1 to snatch the victory and started the season in great fashion.
Marotta was recently talking to the media where he expressed his satisfaction over the recent ventures of the Bianconeri under Conte’s leadership.
“Conte is a leader, who knows the environment, the value of the shirt, and he has a great sense of belonging,” said Marotta.
The commenting on the new stadium, the General Manager said:
“It's an added value, our natural habitat. It will bring in greater receipts and represents an important financial enrichment, but it also allows for a particular environment to be developed which will support the team. The public, by being so close to the
pitch, will truly represent our twelfth man.”
Juventus Arena took two years to complete and is built on the site of the former Stadio delle Alpi. The arena has a capacity of 41,000 people and also features a huge shopping mall which attracts many people.
With the construction of this stadium, Juve became the first Italian club to have its own field. Where Juventus Arena not only shows that the Lady Killers are on the rise again, it will also increase the club’s income significantly.
