Juventus Captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Del-Piero-c4726 keen to score against Parma FC – Serie A Update
Juventus FC Captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-c4710 Del Piero says that he wasn’t disappointed at not scoring against Notts County in the first game played at the new Juventus Stadium. The game was followed after the inauguration ceremony of the stadium which was held in order
to relish the milestone achieved.
The 36-year-old striker, reckoned to be playing the last season of his career, led the Juve squad in the match, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luca-Toni-c22526 registered his name in the history books becoming the first Juventino to score in the new stadium. Del
Piero got a chance to open the scoring but unfortunately for the Juve legend, his effort failed to test the score chart.
However, the 36-year-old striker claimed that he has saved that first goal for the upcoming Serie A starting game against Parma FC.
“I wasn’t upset at not scoring tonight. I hope I’ve saved the goal for Sunday. We’ll begin with great expectations, knowing that if we express ourselves in the best possible way we can aspire and begin to dream. After the last few championships, we must
start with solid foundations, rather than immediately think about the top of the table. There will come a moment in which we hope to be able to take off again,” said the Bianconeri Captain.
The Lady Killers ended the 2010/11 season at the 7th spot in the Serie A rankings for the second consecutive year, missing out on European football action. In order to regain their winning form, Juve went on a revamp strategy during the summer
transfer window and many quality players have been added to the squad along with the addition of Antonio Conte as the new head coach.
“Many things have changed, the Coach, the staff, players and also the stadium. These widespread changes must create enthusiasm and we’ll start from that point,” added the hitman.
It is reckoned that Juve will rise back to glory and the 2011/12 season would be the comeback season for the Turin giants. However, it will take a few weeks to see how the new players adjust in the team.
