Juventus: Claudio Marchisio hails Alessandro Del Piero and Stevan Gerrard as his footballing idols

and have been his idols.
The Italian international is a product of the Juve youth academy and was introduced to the first team in 2006. He has played 119 games as a central midfielder for the Turin giants and has a tendency for scoring goals as well. This season, Marchisio is the
top scorer for Juve with 5 goals and 1 assist and looks in great form.
The midfielder was recently talking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, where he lauded Del Piero and Gerrard for being his idols. The25-year-old Italian said:

Marchisio believes that Gerrard is one of the best midfielders in the world who is versatile and useful in every position. “I remember in the Champions League final comeback by Liverpool against AC Milan, you saw him up front, on the wings and a moment later he was back, marking the playmaker. I have never seen such a complete midfielder,” said the Juve midfielder.
Moreover, while answering about his thoughts regarding the Scudetto title for the 2011/12 season, Marchisio tipped AC Milan as the favourites this term again. The midfielder revealed that his intentions at the moment are just to return to the Champions League.
"We are thinking about it one game at a time and trying to stay ahead of everyone for as long as possible. I want to get Juventus back into the Champions League. I see AC Milan as the title favourites - they have the experience,” concluded Marchisio.
