Juventus FC: Gigi Buffon unsure of the team’s true potential at the moment – Serie A Update
Juventus legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833 is unsure of the team’s potential at the moment and believes they are yet to unlock the team’s true capabilities. There have been major changes in the squad after the 2010/11 season and it is expected that Juve will be able
to make a comeback in the Italian top flight.
Buffon was recently talking to Tutto Juve where the legendary goalkeeper expressed his feelings about the future. The shot-stopper believes that the new team would take some time to settle down and get used to playing as a unit.
“I have to be honest, a lot of new players have arrived, some very late in the market, and even we don’t know our real potential yet. We’ll have to wait for a few weeks to see what path we can realistically take in the season ahead,” said the 33-year-old
Italian international.
The legend was a part of the squad that played against Notts County in the opening game at the club’s new stadium ‘Juventus Arena’. the game in a 1-1 draw.
However, Buffon seemed happy with the way things have gone and expressed joy at having played the first game at the new stadium. The Bianconeri keeper said:
“This evening has made all new signings understand what Juventus means, and for the old players this concept has been refreshed. If things go well then the crowd can certainly help us along, especially as they are so close to the pitch. You can really feel
them, like I do having a static role.”
Moreover, Buffon believes it would take a couple of games for the team to settle in and get used to the Juventus style of football. The new head coach, Antonio Conte, on the other hand, is also optimistic that the team would give out the desired results.
