Juventus FC coach Luigi Delneri’s future decision rests with the club officials – Serie A Update
Juventus FC coach, Luigi Del Neri, has been in doubts about his future with the Turin giants and after the 2-2 draw against Chievo Verona, the tactician believes that the decision now rests solely with the club.
The tactician, amidst much controversy, had stated last Sunday that he will be staying with the Old Lady for the upcoming 2011/12 season. A shocking result later the tactician has been left in a compromising situation. The coach believed that he would lead
the side towards a better end to the season, making a clean run towards the end, but things seem to be going in the opposite direction for the former Sampdoria boss.
While talking to media recently, Delneri revealed:
“My future? You’ll have to ask the club! We’ll start again now from the good things we have shown. We don’t have the maturity, the calmness and balance needed to win these types of games.”
The tactician, then, commented on the stalemate against Chievo and said:
“We weren’t focused in the two goals we conceded, then we were penalised by a few situations that could have gone differently. The side played well by creating many chances against Chievo who were quick on the break. Not counting the two goals they scored,
they just created one more chance. Towards the end, it was only obvious we gave them chances to counter as we wanted to score.”
Chievo Verona scored both the goals in quick succession within a course of a single minute and left the Turin giants blocked out at their home turf. Juve were aiming for the final UEFA Champions League berth – the fourth spot in the Serie A rankings- but
the latest result has killed the Old Lady’s Champions League aspirations.
The ranking table remains the same from last season for Juve as they are still at the 7th spot, 3 points behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 who occupy the last Champions League spot. With just two games left in the
season, Juve will have to wait for another year before they can try their luck in the Elite European club competition.
