Juventus FC interested in Ajax Amsterdam’s Maarten Stekelenburg

The Oranje custodian has emerged as a world class prospect in recent years, prompting interest from several European heavy weights.
Serie A outfit, Juventus FC, are the latest club to have shown interest in signing the highly rated goalkeeper.

Buffon’s current contract runs until the summer of 2013, but the uncertainty

The Old Lady would be facing severe competition in signing the Amsterdammers goalkeeper as Manchester United are leading the race for his jersey. Reports suggest that the 28-year-old will replace his compatriot, Edwin van der Sar, at Old Trafford. Moreover,
AC Milan and Arsenal FC are also interested in signing the highly rated gloves man.
The Dutch International recently injured his thumb in a training session which has sidelined him from action for up to six weeks. In the aftermath of the season ending injury, Stekelenburg broke the news of him wanting a move away from Ajax. The striker
explained that a host of clubs are interested in his services.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper is the product of the Amsterdammers youth academy. He has developed into a vital player at Amsterdam Arena in the past couple of years. The gloves man started his professional career in 2001/02 season and has remained a class
act throughout his career. Stekelenburg has represented De Joden in 186 matches. He earned his first International cap with Netherlands in 2004 and has kept the gloves for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 in 39 matches ever since.
Maarten Stekelenburg’s contract with De Joden runs until the summer of 2012. However, reports suggest that an offer in the region of 10 Million Euros could be enough to lure the Amsterdammers management to let go off their prized asset.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper’s primary choice would be Manchester United, where he would replace legender Van der Sar under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson. Having said that, however, only time will tell the tale of the Dutch International.
