Juventus FC interested in signing Ajax Amsterdam’s Gregory van der Wiel – Eredivisie news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 Amsterdam versatile defender, Gregory van der Wiel, has attracted interest from Serie A giants’ Juventus FC with his superb performance at Amsterdam Arena this season. Reports suggest that the 23-year-old right-back could be on his way out
of Eredivisie at the end of the season, as the Old Lady have shown keen interest in signing the defender in the summer transfer market.
The Dutch international is the product of the Amsterdammers renowned youth academy. He started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in 2007/08 season and has remained a vital part of De Joden back-line. The 23-year-old defender has played 102
matches and scored nine goals for the Amsterdammers.
La Vecchia Signora are desperate to add a new right-back to their squad in the summer transfer market. The Old Lady have previously been linked with TSG Hoffenheim 1899 defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050. However, it looks
like that the Serie A outfit have now set their sights on Gregory.
The Old Lady are currently placed seventh in the league table, trailing the last UEFA Europa League spot by two points. Their back-line has struggled to restrict other sides from scoring goals and they lost and drew many games due to this fact. Team
management thinks that a new young defender will surely give a punch to their back-line and the Dutch international seems to be the perfect fit for their cause.
The Dutch international has previously been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, AC Milan, and Barcelona FC. However, the Old Lady management are looking as the most serious contender for the versatile defender. The Dutch international
agent, Hakim Slimani, recently suggested that none of these clubs are close enough to seal the deal.
The 23-year-old defender’s current contract with the Amsterdammers runs until the summer of 2013. However, reports suggest that an offer in the region of 15 million Euros could be enough to lure the handy defender away from the Eredivisie to play at
Stadio Olimpico de Torino.
