Juventus FC prepare for legal action should FIGC fail to restore 2006 Scudetto – Calciopoli watch
“We will take the matter to the court if the 2006 Serie A title is not revoked from Inter Milan,” Juventus FC President, Andrea Agnelli, has revealed in a recent press conference.
There have been speculations regarding the 2006 Calciopoli scandal, where Juventus were stripped off their 2005/06 Scudetto victory and demoted to the second division, Serie B.
The ongoing investigations of the Calciopoli Scandal in Naples have revealed that other teams were also a part of the match-fixing procedures. In the light of new revelations, Juve asked the committee to review their decision regarding the Scudetto title
of 2006, which was taken away from them and given to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan who finished 2nd in the league that year.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) executive committee is expected to release its final decision on Monday. However, it is reckoned that the Nerazzurri will not be stripped off the title and Juve’s hope of regaining their lost pride will not live.
The Bianconeri President is furious with the progress and is looking forward to take any measures in order to safeguard his club. While talking to the media recently, the President said:
“I’d like to stress that every legal action will be carried out in order to preserve Juventus, if the sports system won’t be able to provide all members with equal dignity and treatment. The dialogue will be restored only when these conditions will be guaranteed.
People’s respectability isn’t at stake; we’re playing for the credibility of the system.”
Moreover, another Serie A outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ACF-Fiorentina-c38209, have also asked for justifications of the Calciopoli allegations that were imposed on them. Sharing his point of view, Agnelli said:
“Fiorentina and their main share holders have properly emphasized the treatment inequality suffered from some football clubs in 2006. The dialogue between the main movers of the football world is certainly desirable, but the equality conditions between these
subjects must still be guaranteed, even better restored, following five years of a system based on double standards.”
La Vecchia Signora’s initial claims on the 2006 Scudetto were rejected by the FIGC as according to rules, the case had expired under the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 laws. However, the executive committee took charge of the case and they have spent this month evaluating new
evidence.
The FIGC will give their final verdict but the case is highly likely to end in Inter Milan’s favour. It’s a result that is already being anticipated by the Old Lady and Juventus officials are willing to take legal action if necessary.
