Juventus after Jefferson Farfan; Klose linked with a return to Werder Bremen
Old Lady after Farfan
Italian giants Juventus are reportedly after Schalke winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jefferson-c18245 Farfan, in this summer’s transfer window. The Peruvian international looks set to leave the German club after a poor season in the Bundesliga. If reports are to be believed, the midfielder
wants to face a new challenge in his career and play for a bigger club in Europe.
Schalke finished 14th on the German League table and just avoided relegation at the end of the season. Die Knappen had a brilliant campaign in the UEFA Champions League, where they reached the semi-finals, eventually losing to Manchester United.
Juventus will look to strengthen their squad after another trophy-less season in the Serie A. It is believed that the Italian club’s unsuccessful bid for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 has led them to swoop for the Schalke man as they need wide players in their squad.
Farfan had a mixed season with Schalke with some inconsistent performances as he scored 10 goals in a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 44 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen-based club.
Klose linked with Bremen return
German international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 is linked to a possible return to his former club, Werder Bremen. The striker was believed to be close to signing for Italian side Lazio this summer but according to widespread speculation, there is a great chance of the
player staying in the Bundesliga next season.
Klose recently refused to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich for a possible one-year extension and has been linked with moves to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 since then. The striker wants regular first-team football in the upcoming season, which was not possible
at Allianz Arena with Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller in devastating form.
Werder Bremen manager, Thomas Schaaf, has also admitted that it would be a very beneficial transfer for both the sides involved. He stated that the club could give him regular football which could be handy in the German’s inclusion in the European Championships
next year.
“We both have recently spoken on the subject [of Klose]. It would be safe for him, but also interesting for us, and I believe that this will be his last or penultimate contract,” he stated.
Klose scored 63 times in 132 appearances during his time at Weserstadion.
