Juventus are favourites for the Scudetto, says AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri – Serie A Update
AC Milan head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, has hailed Juventus for their impressive form and consistency this season and tipped them as the favourites for the Serie A title.
Juve have been a treat to watch this season and have maintained an unbeaten run through their 12 league games. Allegri believes that they deserve to be on top of the league table.
Milan are going to face Genoa in their next away league game on Friday, and if they manage to win, they can temporarily take over the top spot from Juve. However, the Turin giants are up for an easy game at home against the bottom
of the league side Cesena on Sunday, and can easily look forward to extend their lead by more than 2 points.
Juve have had their share of bad luck in the past 6 years after being relegated to the second division. La Vecchia Signora finished 7th in the last two seasons, missing out on European action. However, 2011/12 is being
tipped as the seaon when Juve return to their mighty best.
The Rossoneri head coach was recently talking to the media and he seemed impressed by the revamped Juve squad. The Lady Killers recently made a comeback from 3-1 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and ended the game in a draw at 3-3. Allegri believes
that Juve managed to draw a lost match which seemed to be impossible. The Diavolo boss said:
"Juve deserve to be top because they're the only unbeaten team in the league and on Tuesday they provided a show of strength. From 3-1 down they managed to salvage a match that appeared lost. Antonio Conte's team are title challengers,
they were from the beginning and their current position has reinforced that theory."
Milan had a shaky start to the season where they lost 2 of their first 5 games and managed to steal a solitary victory. However, the Devils have made a strong comeback and are now in the top teams of the Italian top flight this
season.
"We're on a good run of six wins and a draw. Juve are a step ahead but we've pulled back four points since the international break. We have to play well to continue our run of results."
