Juventus boss Antonio Conte content with results and team approach – Serie A Update
Juventus head coach, Antonio Conte, has claimed that he is satisfied by the outcome of the game against Chievo Verona on Sunday. The game ended a stalemate at 0-0, and Juve have kept the top spot in the Italian top flight, with a tie on points with
Udinese Calcio.
La Vecchia Signora dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes, keeping 63 percent ball possession. However, they were unlucky and failed to penetrate the host defence.
For the third time this season, the Lady Killers missed out on the maximum three points and had to make their peace with the solitary point acquired. If Juve were able to make the best out of this game, there would have been a significant margin at
the top with the Turin giants in position to take an early lead.
However, Conte is content with the performance of his team and the tactician believes that every game cannot be won. The former Juventino believes that the Juve squad now has what it takes to join the elites in the league and compete for the title.
In his post-match press conference, the Juve boss said:
"I regret the result, but I’ve seen the right desire and the correct attitude. We controlled the game from the first minute. We’re back to having that ‘big team’ mentality, but now we need to continue to work in order to become a great side in reality.”
Furthermore, Conte explained how they have revamped the squad with new players and a new approach. The tactician believes that a positive attitude and ambitious approach on the field is more important than winning the game.
"In the space of three months, we’ve changed our system and we try to dictate the game on every pitch. Obviously, we cannot expect victories every time. We always go for the win, but then you can come up against a solid, physical team like Chievo,”
concluded the tactician.
Although Juve are currently tied on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 at 12, they sit at the summit of the table ahead of the Zebrette in goal difference.
