Juventus chasing after Aguero and Bastos but who will leave the Bianconeri? – Serie A (Part 1)
After finishing the 2010-2011 Serie A season without a single trophy addition to their cabinet, Juventus are set to embark on an extensive investment spree in the summer transfer window of 2011. With big names such as Manchester
United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 focusing on buying young and talented players, Juventus will find it hard to break through considering that they finished 7th in the Serie A table at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
It was a particularly disappointing end to a season which was thought to be a make or break one for the most successful team in Italian football as Juventus were expected to finish in the top four teams of the Serie A when the
season kicked off in the fall of 2010. Under Luigi Del Neri’s guidance, Juventus failed to live up to their fans expectations. Due to their failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the 2009-2010 season, the Bianconeri participated in the Europa
League in the 2010-2011 season. In the group stages, the Italian giants flattered to deceive as they drew all of their six group stage games in the Europa League.
Their failure to fire at the European stage only confirmed that Juventus needed investment but it was also viewed as a blessing in disguise as many of Juventus’ faithful fans thought that their elimination from the Europa League
would allow them to secure a place in the next season’s UEFA Champions League by stepping up their league campaign. However that ideology went to waste soon after as Del Neri’s team were found wanting on the domestic front as well.
Juventus failed to impress against the likes of Napoli and Udinese and they also self destructed against the eventual champions and their rivals, A.C Milan. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and
Udinese behind them. Their failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League has created a massive problem for Juventus as they will now find it hard to attract players in the summer transfer window market. Bianconeri are due to move into the new stadium in
the up-coming season and their newly appointed manager Antonio Conte is looking for new talent to reinvigorate his aging club side.
If transfer reports are to be believed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero is Juventus’ top target this summer. The Atletico Madrid forward has already confirmed his need to seek a future away from the Madrid minnows but now there are several clubs
vying for his signature. Real Madrid are believed to be interested but it is Juventus who are keen to secure the signature of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Maradona’s son-in-law as they are adamant on signing a replacement for their veteran striker Del Piero, who might retire at
the end of the coming season.
Moreover, Manchester City are also taking a look at Aguero’s situation. Given that belief that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez might part ways with the Citizens, the blue half of Manchester will go in with a massive bid for his argentine compatriot
whose style of play is not as robust as Tevez but certainly full of flair and creativity to say the least.
