Juventus confirm the signing of Reto Ziegler on a free transfer from Sampdoria – Serie A Update
Sampdoria left wingback, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Reto-Ziegler-c30895, has been signed by Juventus FC, the club’s second signing of ahead of the summer transfer window. The Turin giants have confirmed the news of the transfer and Zeigler has been added to the men in the black-white jerseys.
The Swiss International was reported to be in Turin yesterday for his medical examination and the news has been confirmed by both ends. Ziegler’s contract would run until the end of June 2015 and the player is expected to see a lot of first team action with
Juve, unlike his former club Tottenham where he was only a bench warmer.
Ziegler is an excellent steal for the Bianconeri as the stopper is acquired on a free transfer. The defender was on the verge of joining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 during the winter transfer sessions but remained with La Samp. With his contract expiring and Sampdoria having
gotten relegated to Serie B, it was the perfect moment for Juve to advance and the Lady Killers director general and transfer chief, Beppe Marotta, took full advantage of the situation.
While expressing his feeling on joining the Turin giants, the Swiss defender said:
“I’m very happy. Yesterday I had my medical tests and then I signed the contract. Everything went well and I can’t wait to wear the shirt of this club. Juventus are a great side, it is a great honour for me and an important step forwards in my career. I
can now play with champions and will be able to show my qualities as a footballer. I am a full-back who likes to attack, I’m a technical player and I can give a bit of freshness to Juventus."
Juve have been very lucky during the transfer window as they have already landed legendary midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Pirlo-c5702, on a free (Bosman) transfer earlier this week. The influx of players is set to continue as La Vecchia Signora are keen to return to their
glory days.
