Juventus defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giorgio-Chiellini-c14963 believes it's good not to be in European competitions this season
Juventus centre-back, Giorgio Chiellini, has claimed that it's a good thing that they are not in the UEFA Champions League, as they can focus all their attention on the Serie A.
The Turin giants, after years of inconsistency following the Calciopoli scandals, have finally emerged strongly in the Italian top tier and are aiming to take a shot at the Scudetto trophy.
The Lady Killers currently sit at the 4th spot on the league table but still have a game in hand. Juve are preparing for a home game against Palermo on November 20 and are keen to jump back to the top spot by defeating
the Rosanero.
Juve were scheduled to visit Naples last weekend to play against the tough Scudetto competitors http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. Now that game is scheduled to be played
on Tuesday, November 29, at Stadio San Paolo.
Chiellini believes that it was disappointing not to be in a European competition but added that La Vecchia Signora now stand a better chance of clinching the Scudetto. The defender demanded concentration and hard work from his
teammates as that is the only way to bring the title to Turin.
The centre-back was recently talking to Tuttosport where he expressed his feelings and said:
"Not playing in Europe can be an advantage for Juventus for the Scudetto, but next year we want to be there. However, it is still early to say that we are favourites for the title. I think Milan are up there and Napoli also have
a great project."
The Italian international is currently on international duty. Chiellini, while commenting on the Azzurri, said that he is waiting for the return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giuseppe-Rossi-c15027 to the team.
"It's a shame for Cassano and Rossi, but we are waiting for them. However, we have been doing well for a year and we have many great players," concluded the defender.
