The Bianconeri legend has praised the whole squad for the recent success, and targets a win over Atalanta this weekend
Legendary Juventus goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833, believes that the main reason behind his team’s success in the 2011/12 season has been their ‘desire to amaze’ with exciting football.
The Turin giants have maintained an unbeaten run after 18 games in the ongoing campaign and currently lead the league table.
The Lady Killers successfully revamped their squad during the summer transfer window, and appointed Antonio Conte as the new head coach. Several new players were signed during the summer and the changes have brought about the desired
results.
Buffon insists that the Turin giants have returned to the place where they were a few years back. He believes that the spirit in the Juve camp has been key to their recent success.
The Juve glove-man was recently talking to the Juventus channel where he revealed his point of view.
“It seems like a novelty now, but a few years ago we were used to situations like this and it’s a pleasure to be back there. We are managing that thanks to our desire to amaze, to sweat and prove ourselves all over again." He said.
Buffon heaped special praise on Juve’s defensive unit, but credited the whole squad for the club’s recent success.
“The defence is doing well, it’s true, but this is thanks to the work of the whole squad who with their pressing ensure the service that comes my way isn’t easy to finish off.” Added Buffon.
Juve await a tough clash at the weekend, as they will take on Atalanta at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on Sunday. The Black-Blues have suffered just one defeat at home turf this season, against A.C Milan recently. However, Buffon
is confident that his team is ready to take on Atalanta, and is hopeful of holding onto the top spot.
“It will be a difficult and fiery encounter, as it always is against Atalanta. We want to maintain our position in the table.”
