The sporting director of the Fiorentina outfit has gone on to reiterate that the Old Lady have not given their reasoning behind their intervention of the Berba deal.
Fiorentina were on the brink of capturing the Bulgarian forward from Manchester United, after the clubs had agreed a fee for the striker and all that remained was finalising the personal terms of the player. The Viola outfit were hoping to cap off their
brilliant summer of transfers with the icing on the cake being the acquisition of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254.
Montella had stated that they were looking to sign a prolific striker, and Andrea Della Valle had given a big hint to the media that they will be signing a great striker whose name starts with the letter B. Right before Berbatov was looking to go and take
his flight for Florence, Juve intervened with an offer to Manchester United, which the club found acceptable as well.
This complicated matters as the player had gone on to state that he would be looking at both of the offers. This gave a window of opportunity to Fulham to swoop in with an offer for the Bulgarian, and the lure of working again with Martin Jol was too much
for the Bulgarian to turn down.
This meant that Juve and Fiorentina both remained empty handed, and there was an air of bitterness from the Gigliati outfit towards the Bianconeri outfit. The higher ups of the Artemio Franchi outfit have gone on to blast the management of Juve for being
unethical in their transfer policy, and demanded an explanation.
As Daniele Prade tells in a press conference, that has not happened till date, and remarked that the Turin outfit needs to give a positive outlook rather than scuppering deals that the other clubs have worked on for so long.
He further went on to state:
“A certain behaviour has to be maintained. We have to set an example for young people and all the fans that are watching. There was no explanation and no phone call.”
The sporting director of the Viola outfit was talking to ANSA, and was disheartened by the whole incident.
