The former Bianconeri midfielder insists that the lack of humbleness is the reason behind the 1-1 draw against Chievo Verona; insists that the result is a worrying sign.
Former Juventus midfielder, Massimo Mauro, has blasted the Old Lady following their recent 1-1 draw against Chievo Verona.
The Turin giants are yet to taste a defeat in the 2011/12 season, but they have played 12 draws in the league so far. Their recent stalemate has seen them slip to the second-spot in the Serie A standings.
Mauro believes that humility has been a vital factor behind the Old Lady’s phenomenal season. However, he observed that it was due to the absence of humility, which prevented Juve from winning against the Flying Donkeys.
While talking to Sky Sports Italia, the pundit said:
“Juventus have lost what had been their strength this season – humility. There is no longer that desire to run for teammates, to help themselves, to play with that high rhythm that we had previously seen.”
The former Napoli star also took a swipe at the role of the management in the recent period, insisting that the manager has made several mistakes in his team selection.
“I’m not convinced by the management of the team either and I think boss Antonio Conte has probably made some mistakes in his team selection. I was at the stadium and the draw is worrying.”
Mauro also criticised striker Mirko Vucinic for his mistake which led to the Gialloblu’s equaliser. The Italian politician believes that the squad has the potential to bounce back strongly, and is hopeful that they will regain
their lost form soon.
“It’s not a physical issue as the squad has running in their legs, they are just running badly, really badly.”
The Lady Killers will take on Bologna in their rescheduled game of matchday 22, and a win against Stefano Pioli’s men will put them joint-top in the league table. The game will be played at Bologna’s, Stadio Dall’Ara on Wednesday,
March 7th.
