Antonio Conte, head coach of the Turin giants, has been hailed by the legendary Gianluca Pessotto as a champion amongst champions, following his run with Juve.
Antonio Conte has given the Bianconeri outfit a new lease of life and their performances have improved leaps and bounds after his appointment as the head coach of the Turin outfit. Ever since their promotion back to the Serie A in 2007, Juve have not been
able to mount a serious challenge for the Scudetto, and the Milanese sides were taking turns on competing for the Serie A championships and winning the championships on a number of occasions between themselves as well.
Furthermore, just two seasons prior to the appointment of the former Bari head coach, Juventus finished in the 7th position in the Serie A standings. No one could have visualised their growth in the 2011-12 season under Conte, and the Italian
tactician took everyone by surprise, following his immaculate tactical acumen and the work he displayed with the Azzurri outfit.
It has to be mentioned that for a team who had not been able to get into the Champions League for a while to have won the Serie A was nothing short of miraculous and Conte has received plaudits from various people. Gianluca Pessotto has joined that list
of admirers, and claimed that Conte has become the same mould of head coach in congruency with his playing days. He claimed that the former Bari head coach brought along with himself a unique set of skills and winning mentality.
He was quoted to have said:
“I was hoping that Antonio could become the same sort of manager as he was a player. And he certainly has – he has it all. Antonio has a winning mentality and great experience – these are the qualities that he had on the field. All that sweat has helped
him become a true champion, as a Coach and a player.”
Antonio Conte is currently banned from overseeing the matches on the touchline and in the dressing room, but he will be making his comeback soon enough as the ban will be lifted in early December.
