Juventus legend Claudio Gentile optimistic of his former team’s future – Serie A Update
Former Italy international and Juventus legend, Claudio Gentile, believes that Juventus are capable of making it through to the UEFA Champions League for the next year. The former fullback is optimistic regarding the future of the Bianconeri and believes
that the team will emerge strongly in the 2011/12 Italian Serie A season.
The former Juventino was talking to Mana Mana Radio broadcast, where he expressed his feelings and trust in La Vecchia Signora. The former defender praised Antonio Conte as being a figure worthy of coaching the Juve squad.
“Conte is a worthy but a good coach is when he gets the results in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. With the current team, we can fight for a place in Champions League that belongs to Juventus. Conte has a good strategy of new ideas and I'm not pessimistic, but for results, we need
to be patient and I'm sure they will come,” said Gentile.
Furthermore, the Juve legend hailed the current Bianconeri Captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Del-Piero-c4726, as a very versatile player who knows how to tackle opposition. Gentile believes that Del Piero would play an important role in the fight to make it through to the UEFA
Champions League for next year.
The six-time Serie A title winner, though, seemed unsatisfied with the additions to the defensive block of the Juve squad. The former defender believes that although there have been some great additions to the squad for the 2011/12 season, the team still
lacks quality at the back.
"The purchases were made good, no top player has been acquired, but still the Juventus transfer market has been more than good. The defence was not reinforced and it remains as it was. However, the results will speak," added the Juve legend.
The Lady Killers have successfully revamped their squad during the summer transfer market and the likes of Andrea Pirlo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024 have come to Turin. However, results are yet to be seen as Juventus play their first match of the 2011/12 season against
Parma FC at Stadio Olimpico on September 11.
