Juventus legend Tacchinardi backs Napoli to beat Villarreal in the Champions League
Former Villarreal midfielder, Alessio Tacchinardi, has backed Napoli to beat his former employers in their UEFA Champions League clash.
Walter Mazzarri’s men will host the Spanish side in their group stage game at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. The game holds immense importance for both the sides as they are placed in the toughest group of
the competition. Each and every point won will have a say in the final group standings which will decide the qualifying teams for the next round.
Tacchinardi, who spent two years on-loan at Villarreal, believes that his former employers do not have the depth in squad to beat the Italian outfit. The Juventus legend praised the President of the Spanish club for doing a wonderful
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to make it a competitive unit but believes that Napoli have more match-winners at their disposal.
The 36-year-old believes that the Yellow Submarine do not possess quality replacements for their top players and will struggle in their absence.
Tacchinardi said, “Villarreal's President is ambitious; he has built a competitive team through shrewd investment. Napoli, however, have players for every game. Garrido does not have many alternatives.”
The former Brescia star believes that there is huge difference between the Spanish and the Italian league and the latter is more competitive.
“A balanced championship? It is more fun than the Spanish. At least in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 there is a balance and each game has no foregone conclusion. Mazzarri's team is playing so much, the schedule is tight and they are not used to this rota
yet. Mazzarri is doing a great job, but in my own analysis, these factors have contributed to the defeat against Chievo.”
The Azzurri had a great start to the season but have lost their way of late, as they have dropped 5 points in their last two matches. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are currently placed on the 4th spot and trail the league leaders by just one
point.
The Partenopei side are making a return to the competition after a long absence of 21 years and Mazzarri is desperate to perform well.
