Juventus midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312 weighing his options – Serie A football news
According to reports in Italy, Juventus FC midfielder, Claudio Marchisio, is currently considering his options at the club after it transpired that the talks between his agent and Juventus officials are not going as smoothly as the 25-year-old had hoped
for.
The Italian International is far from happy with the progress in his contract extension talks and may wish to leave the club should negotiations break down. Marchisio signed his last contract extension two years ago, a deal that would keep him with La Vecchia
Signora until the summer of 2014. However, the player’s status with the Serie A giants has changed drastically ever since.
When Marchisio signed his last contract, having just returned from a loan spell at Empoli, he was an inexperienced youngster. Fast forward two years and Marchisio has become an important part of Italian national team. Marchisio, thus, wants to be rewarded
for growth he has made over the last few years. Reports indicate that Juve hierarchy are on the same page regarding the player deserving of a new contract, but the two parties have a long way to go before an agreement can be reached.
Failing to reach an agreement will prompt the midfielder to look for pastures greener, a club that can meet his wage demands. Should the Italian International find a suitor for his services, he is likely to demand a transfer request and would walk out of
the club.
Marchisio is a graduate of the esteemed Juventus youth academy. A young Marchisio joined the Bianconeri youth ranks in 1993 and made his first team debut in 2006. Chances were few and hard to come by in Turin and the youngster was loaned out to Empoli to
garner first team experience. After spending the 2007/08 season on loan, he returned to his parent club for the 2008/09 season. Under former Juventus manager Claudio Ranieri, Marchisio became a first choice player and after a match winning performance in the
4-2 victory over AC Milan, he became a fan favourite. Since then, Marchisio has seen 4 coaching changes at the club. To his credit, however, he has remained a favourite of all the tacticians; Ranieri, Ciro Ferrara, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-c4309 Zaccheroni and Luigi Del Neri.
Having joined the club as a 7-year-old, Marchisio has stayed a loyal servant to the club. Should he leave the club over a petty wage issue, it would be a sad end to a loyal stint. Furthermore, Juve cannot afford to lose a player of Marchisio’s calibre, especially
since the club is in a financial turmoil and his replacements would be few and costly to start off with.
