Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo joins Galatasaray SK on loan deal – Serie A Transfer Update
Juventus FC defensive midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Felipe-Melo-c13535, has moved out of Turin to join the Turkish outfit, Galatasaray SK. The midfielder made his exit on a loan transfer deal for a reported 1.5 million Euros transfer fee, which is due to be paid in three installments
during the upcoming 2011/12 season.
The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder was left out of the Bianconeri squad that went on a pre-season tour of USA and that was a major setback for him. Furthermore, Melo was informed that he is not included in any planning for the upcoming 2011/12 term and
that made a move out of Turin inevitable for the midfielder.
There were two main contenders for the signature of Melo: the German Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund and the Turkish giants Galatasaray SK. However, the German outfit bailed out of the acquisition race claiming that the reports linking them to the Brazilian
player were nothing but rumours. This statement paved the way for the Aslanlar and they successfully lured the player to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026.
The Turkish outfit revealed last Thursday that they are in talks with the Italian giants for a loan transfer deal and are looking good to bring in the midfielder.
The news was confirmed also by the official Juventus website. The official statement reads:
"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Galatasaray Sportif Sinai Ve Ticari Yatirimlar A.S. for the temporary disposal of the registration rights of the player Felipe Melo De Carvalho has been reached. The contract envisages the
payment by Galatasaray of €1.5 million [£1.3m] in three instalments to be paid during 2011-2012 financial year. The agreement also includes the option right, to be exercised by Galatasaray within May 31, 2012, for the definitive acquisition of the football
player at a price of €13m [£11.4m]."
Melo joined the Lady Killers during the summers of 2009 for 25 million Euros from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ACF-Fiorentina-c38209. The player has been a consistent performer for Juve since his arrival in Turin.
