The Bianconeri director general believes that the Old Lady will be the team to beat in the next season of Serie A, and has urged the team to forget their laurels of the last campaign to make a fresh start.
Beppe Marotta has voiced his belief that Juventus remain the best club in the Italian league, and has urged his team to exhibit the superior hunger for victory in their next season as well.
The Bianconeri were crowned the Champions of Serie A after a spirited campaign in the league, which saw them rise to the top against all expectations, and snatch the Scudetto from the mouth of the favourites AC Milan.
Beppe Marotta stated that while the title win will remain a cherished memory for the club, it is important that the players forget the laurels of the past, and start the new season from scratch like all the other teams in the league.
The Old Lady chief went on to stress that in the upcoming season Juventus will no longer be the underdog, but the Champion whom every other club will look to dismantle.
The Bianconeri executive urged his players to show greater drive for victory than all the other teams, in order to once again earn their position at the top of Serie A.
While talking to the press, the 57-year-old said:
"We need to put the previous celebrations to one side. We now start from scratch. We’re the team to beat, everyone will give their all against us and we’ll need to have more desire than the others.”
Marotta went on to express his satisfaction on the pre-season training of the squad, and stressed that the fact that Juventus have started their training at Chatillon-Saint-Vincent means a lot to him.
The Bianconeri director general went on to stress that the Old Lady has seen many a good times at the historic stadium, and hoped that the club will continue to bring in silverware in the next season as well.
"The new season has got off to a good start during pre-season in Chatillon-Saint-Vincent, a place that takes us back in time. Juventus built many important successes here and we’ll look to emulate them." He added.
