Juventus needs overhauling, says Beppe Marotta – Serie A update
Juventus FC General Manager, Beppe Marotta, has revealed the clubs intentions of a total overhaul of the outfit before the next season starts. The club has been lacking consistency and is losing track of the top runners.
Marotta has also disclosed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-Bastos-c25461, to be the top transfer choices for next season.
The outfit has had a season of failure, first with the summer transfers and then again in with the winter transfers, as the team failed to come together.
The Old Lady is currently tracking the Europa League spot currently occupied by AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. Juve sit on the 7th spot with 48 points, just 2 points behind Roma.
In the last fixture, the Lady Killers defeated Roma in a 2-0 away win. The victory has revived the chances of achieving the Europa League berth for the next season and the Old Lady is optimistic for the upcoming last 7 games of the season. Juve needs to
come up with flawless form to make full use of the opportunity at hand.
Marotta was recently interviewed by an Italian reporting agency where he answered questions regarding the ongoing season and the future developments of the outfit.
Marotta said:
“Now we have seven games left that could determine a year, transforming it from mediocre to quite positive. Probably several things. Knowing the club more favours you. We arrived in May, inheriting a cycle that was coming to an end. There was a new one to
open and we needed to understand whether to start a revolution or to make a change. A revolution would probably have left an even deeper impression and so we opted for a change. New players arrived: It was logical to pay a price and not to think about being
immediately competitive at the top”.
The general manager also commented on the future of coach, Gigi Del Neri, whose future seems uncertain at the Old Lady.
Marotta said that Del Neri is considered to a very professional and active part of the team and he has been able to revive the team’s spirit and moral. The GM said that the outfit’s plan starts with Del Neri as the coach and then the different situations
and possibilities are considered.
Furthermore, adding to the updates for the summer transfer window, Marotta said that Andrea Pirlo, Fabio Quagliarella and Michel Bastos are being considered as the right players that Juve needs and development on this idea would be implemented soon.
