Gigi Buffon has applauded the defensive solidarity of his team, and believes that phenomenal harmony is central to Juventus’s rise to the top of the Serie A standings.
The Bianconeri goalkeeper stated that he has played with some historical teams at the club, but the defensive stats that they have managed in this season remain unprecedented. The veteran gloves-man insisted that he has seen his side dominate the league,
but never experienced so few balls go through him for goals.
While talking to the press, the Old Lady goal guardian said:
“I’ve conceded just once in the last seven games and just 15 in the 31 games I’ve played. It’s never happened before, not even in the years when we dominated as a side. The defensive solidarity is the platform on which we’ve built our successes.”
The Old Lady remain the only unbeaten side in the league, and were impressive with yet another clean sheet in the 4-0 victor over AS Roma.

The Italian stated that he has seen a host of star midfielders during his affair with the outfit, but insisted that Vidal is someone
who could have proudly been a part of the great Juventus, before the catastrophic relegation took hold of the club.
“I’ve been lucky enough to see a host of fine midfielders during my time with the club. I already said at the start of the season that someone like Arturo would have also been able to play for the great Juve of a few years ago.”
Buffon insisted that the Giallorossi triumph is the most important win of the season, as it was the conquest over a difficult side, and also allowed them to leapfrog three points clear of AC Milan in the race to the Scudetto. However, he insisted that victories
in the remaining league games will be more fundamental to getting their hands on the league trophy.
There are five games left in the league for which Juventus will need to stay ahead of AC Milan, in order to finish their fairy tale of a season with Scudetto.
