http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Zamparini, Chief Executive Officer of Palermo FC, has gone on to comment on the progress of Juventus and remarked that barring Andrea Pirlo they are ordinary.
Zamparini is by far one of the most controversial figures in Italian football and his quotes as well as his style of Presidency are always under the spotlight. He is never one to hide back from making controversial statements and he has made another one
by commenting on the team that Antonio Conte has assembled at his disposal.
Many have touted Conte as being shrewd and extremely tactful in his management style, but no one has gone on to question the quality of players that he has bought to the Turin outfit; however, there is where you find Zamparini. Zamp has found problems in
the title winning squad of Serie A 2011-12 as well. Juve have gone on to progress into the knock out rounds of the UEFA Champions League, and they did this by topping the group they were part of.
They had gone on to secure victory against an extremely tough opposition in Shakhtar Donetsk, and they did this while they were playing at the Donbass Arena, the home ground of the Ukrainian Champions. Even though, Zamparini lauded the performance of the
team and stated that they had indeed played a wonderful game of football, he remarked that there were things lacking in the team.
He reflected on the enthusiasm of the Turin giants and the dedication with which they play, and commended the athleticism that they have shown in European competition. While commenting on their prospects in the premier European competition, he stated that
they have a great chance of reaching the finals. During his interview, he remarked:
“I’m impressed by their dynamism and rhythm. On an athletic level, they have 10 gears more than everyone else. I think they could be protagonists until the end in Europe, they could reach the Final. You have to praise boss Antonio Conte because this Juve,
apart from Andrea Pirlo, is made up of normal players.”
Zamparini has not been as active in the press as compared to previous year, after going behind the scenes since the appointment of Pietro Lo Monaco.
