The Bianconeri Primavera has been placed in a group with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce for their debut appearance in the Champions League for youth teams.
Juventus Primavera have been placed in one of the most challenging groups for their first appearance in NextGen Series, along with the youth-teams of giants from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026.
The inaugural competition consisting of 16 teams was won by Inter Milan’s youngsters, and also led to Andrea Stramaccioni’s promotion to the manager of the Nerazzurri’s senior team.
The second edition of the youth competition has been expanded to include 24 teams from all around Europe, and will also feature the Primavera squad of the Serie A Champions for the first time.
Juventus academy director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovanni-c14985 Rossi admitted that receiving an invitation to participate in the prestigious youth tournament is a matter of delight for him. The Bianconeri executive stated that their youngsters will give their
all to uphold the honour of the tournament, and insisted that the participating lads will also elevate the colours of the Zebre at an international stage.
While talking to the press, the Bianconeri youth head-coach stated:
“We’re very happy with the invitation to take part in the competition for the very first time. Our boys will give their all in order to honour the competition and the club’s colours.”
The 24 teams in the completion have been divided into six groups containing four teams each. While the top-two sides from each group will qualify for the next round of the tournament, the six third-placed sides will battle to secure
one of the four spots for the next round.
The competition has gained a lot of popularity all around, and is widely being referred to as the Champions League for youth teams.
