The young Dutch midfielder has reportedly penned down a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A giants after the two sides reached an agreement on the transfer fee.
Reports from Amsterdam Arena confirm that Juventus have acquired the services of Ouasim Bouy from Ajax Amsterdam for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 18-year-old midfielder reportedly put pen to a contract on the final day of the January transfer window that will keep him at Juventus Stadium until the summer of 2015.
The promising midfielder broke into the Amsterdammers senior team earlier this year, however, he failed to appear in any Eredivisie match.
Ajax’s technical director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Blind, expressed that his side wanted to prolong the 18-year-old’s stay at Amsterdam Arena and even offered him a contract. But the youngster wanted to move away for greener pastures.
“Ouasim is a big talent and we would have loved to keep him here. We opened talks about a new contract in December and offered him a four-year deal. We did not reach an agreement, though”, Blind was quoted as saying to the club’s official website
Bouy had an ongoing contract with the defending Dutch champions that was due to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign. Understandably, the club decided to cash-in rather lose the player on a Bosman transfer.
“Juventus made him a great offer that he could not turn down. By selling him now, we have at least received a transfer fee”, Blind added.
The director then went on wish the youngster a prosperous future with the Turin giants, but expressed his disappointment on losing the young midfielder.
“We wish him all the best, but are disappointed that we were unable to hold on to him”, Blind concluded.
While the promising youngster would be keen to make it to the first team with Juventus, he would have to wait on the sidelines with the likes of Andrea Pirlo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760 and Claudio Marchisio all ahead in the pecking order.
