Andrea Agnelli, the President of the Turin club, has shed light on the rationale behind Antonio Conte’s men opting to ignore the media in the past few days.
The Lady Killers have not been in the best run of form of late, and this has added to the frustrations of people involved with the club.
Their most recent failure involved the Old Lady being held to a draw against Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium over the weekend. The frustrating part for the Turin faithful was the fact that the Juve side
struck the woodwork on three separate occasions, besides the goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Simone-Pepe-c33591 which was incorrectly adjudged to be offside.
Conte’s men have been unable to maintain a consistent run into the last quarter of the season, having drawn six of their last eight matches. Even though the Bianconeri have been on an unbeaten run for the
season, it will not be of much consolation if AC Milan were to win the league title.
Antonio Conte refused to attend the pre-match conference against Genoa, and in his absence, their assistant manager deputised. After the match, no one from Juventus was available for the post-match interview.
The Juve patron tried to clarify the situation at hand, stating:
“We took a moment for reflection. Some of the thoughts we had previously expressed in the recent past have attracted much attention, so we felt a day of reflection would to well. This morning was the usual
opportunity for us to take stock.”
Talking about the rivalry between AC Milan and Juventus, the chief was quick to dismiss any such suggestions, remarking that the clubs are healthy competitors and shared mutual respect for each other. The
rivalry between the Turin and the Milan outfit was put to test after fiery words were exchanged after the recent match between the two sides.
Agnelli also realises the need for progression at a club like Juventus and mentioned the need of everyone to work towards that goal. He remarked:
“We knew that to return Juventus to success would take a great effort and we now realise that we must be able to fight against everything and everyone, conscious that our strength is sufficient enough to
get results.
It remains to be seen whether Conte decides to hold a press conference on reveal his side of the story.
