Italian giants Juventus are reportedly in Portugal to negotiate with the Dragons for the sale of Fredy Guarin.
Antonio Conte’s men have been monitoring the progress of the talented midfielder for the past few months, who has become a well respected figure in Liga Sagres after shining in Porto’s quadruple winning term.
While he made 40 appearances under the tutelage of Andre Villas-Boas, the Colombian has failed to convince Vitor Pereira with his abilities and has only featured a handful of times this season.
His unwanted status at Estadio do Dragao has raised a few eyebrows in Europe, with Juventus and AS Roma keeping tabs on the situation. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 have been linked with the player in the past and it was thought that a move was on the cards.
Backed by their need to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Envigado-c39013 man could be on his way out of the Primeira Liga this winter.
Juve have taken notice of this and have stepped up their interest in the Coffee Growers International following their decision to part ways with the legendry http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Del-Piero-c4726 at the end of the campaign.
The overall squad is also quite aged in Turin and Antonio Conte is eager to add young talent to his team. Guarin is thought to be his ideal candidate and both the parties have initiated introductory contact with each other.
"There are only preliminary negotiations with Juventus. Nothing official, we are just at the stage of exchanging information.
“At the moment they have spoken only with us and not with the club, [so] it’s hard to say if Guarin could move in January,” Guarin’s advisor, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Ferreyra, was quoted as saying.
As a move this winter would be beneficial for both the player and the club, Juve’s Sporting director Giuseppe Marotta will shortly be in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 to negotiate with the Portistas and complete the paperwork.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186’s asking price is believed to be €13 million but the Italian outfit are willing to offer €10.5 million. Juventus are also open to the possibility of a loan deal and are allegedly ready to cough up €2 million right now and the rest after permanently acquiring the player in the summer.
With Guarin unlikely to be used by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Belluschi-c13628, selling him to Juventus this winter would not only free up space in the squad, it will also allow the club to get their hands on some much needed cash, with which they can acquire new recruits.
