The Bianconeri director reveals his interest in Van Persie, Luis Suarez and Higuain for a possible move in summer; states Mario Balotelli does not fit their profile.
Beppe Marotta has revealed Juventus’ transfer plans in preparation for their next season, and insists that the Bianconeri’s first priority is to buy a new striker.
The Old Lady stamped their supremacy in Serie A with the Scudetto win, and will challenge the best clubs from all over Europe in the next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Marotta stated that the Bianconeri is looking for a couple of top quality players who will not only agree with their financial strength, but also strengthen the team while maintaining the balance of the squad.
The Vecchia Signora chief stated that their first priority is to acquire a new striker who will form the backbone of their attack.
The Old Lady executive admitted his interest in Van Persie, and extolled the striker as one of the best players in football. He added that the Arsenal-man along with Luis Suarez and Higuain will be the prime targets for the Turin giants.
While talking to the press, the 57-year-old said:
“We are looking for two or three excellent elements, without losing sight of the balance of a squad which has important technical and human qualities. We also have to balance the finances. Van Persie is one of the best players in circulation. It is possible
that he, along with Suarez and Higuain, will be one of the top players we are after. They are interesting players.”
Juventus have also been linked with a move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955, but Beppe Marotta played down all such reports.
The Old Lady director suggested that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are not keen on selling Edinson Cavani, and stated that the owner’s desire is important before a transfer can be made possible.
When asked about Mario Balotelli, the Bianconeri chief stated that he has never considered a move for the Manchester City striker, as he does not fit the profile that they are looking for.
“Cavani? You always have to consider the desire of the clubs which own players. We have never thought about Balotelli. He doesn’t fit the profile we are looking at, a profile which isn’t based solely on technical ability.”
Beppe Marotta concluded that Juventus have regained their appeal among players in the market, and insisted that the fact will help the club during negotiations.
