The war of words has begun between the two clubs, and Sandro Mencucci has taken a swipe at the Juventus head coach of trying to influence the referees.
Antonio Conte has been extremely vocal about his opinions on the refereeing decisions handed out to the Turin club.
He has been voicing such opinions throughout the course of the season and many club’s officials have grown tired of hearing him complain.
The latest official to get irked by Conte’s continuous rant is Fiorentina general manager, Mencucci, who spoke ahead of the match between the two sides. He felt that by continuously raving on the refereeing
standards, Juve are trying to confuse and manipulate the officials into giving decisions in favour of them.
He also believed that some decisions went in your favour and some went against you. The most recent refereeing decision to go in favour of the Bianconeri was the disallowed goal of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sulley-Muntari-c34312 in the crucial
Milan-Juve clash.
The Viola official spoke of his frustration over hearing the same thing again and again; he also maintained that there needed to be a diversion from complaining over the refereeing decisions. Further adding,
he said:
“It’s good to fire up this game, but the truth is I am tired of hearing certain talk around the place. During the week I wanted to remind everyone to keep an even tone and not talk about sobbing or presumed
errors against them.”
The general manager was hard done by the concession of an unjust goal at the hands of Parma, and stated that the complaints played on the minds of the referees, and added:
“Don’t forget against Parma we conceded a very soft penalty because of the moaning that the Gialloblu did in the lead-up to that match.”
Furthermore the Fiorentina official was at odds to explain the reason for the complaints, as they were the stronger outfit of the two, he mentioned:
“It’s not right to start crying in order to influence the referee ... Juve are stronger than Fiorentina, so it’s even worse to try to condition the referee the day before.”
The match will be played at the Stadio Franchi.
