i am considering buying the JVC GZ-MG360 or JVC GZ-MG365 camcorder. for a few reasons but mainly the ability for A/V input recording. just wanted to double check with anyone that has one of these camcorders to make sure i understand the the camcorder can record A/V input from say a helmet cam, TV, ot VCR. given i have the correct cables to do so. another thing. say i had a helmet cam hooked to my camcorder if i was to put my camcorder in record mode would it keep recording if i put the lcd screen back into its protective / closed position.

  1. The 360 does NOT do AV-in. The 365 does.

If you are considering using a hard drive camcorder for recording sports activities that cause the camcorder to shake or vibrate, be aware that the hard drive heads will park to protect the hard drive mechanism (and the platters) - potentially resulting in no captured video. MiniDV tape and flash memory camcorders do not suffer from this problem.
