how do i huck my old version of a jvc camcorder to the computer? What kind of cord should i have?

  1. If it does not have firewire capability, then there first thing you need is the video cable for that camcorder.

    - It is probably a small port for a cable that connects to the camcorder.  The camcorder end will have a mini plug with 4 sections, a DV jack, or a special proprietary jack particular to that model and manufacturer of camcorder.  The other end of this cable will have 3 male RCA plugs in yellow, red, and white.

    The second thing you will need is a USB video adapter.  One end will have a normal large silver male USB connector for the computer.  The other end of the cable will have 3 female RCA jacks corresponding to the yellow, red, and white connectors on the camcorder cable mentioned earlier.

    - There are many USB video adapters to choose from, and they all work.  They are available for every computer system and OS, but the vast majority are made for a PC with windows.  If you are not on a PC, be sure to read the specs and requirements to find the correct one for your particular system.

    * All of the USB video adapters include software or specific instructions that will transfer your video to your computer
