Jvc digital video camera gr-DVM70 help me please!!!?

i have one of those jvc digital video camera gr-DVM70 cameras and i made some videos! so i want to upload them to my computer. i found the usb drive were you plug in the usb cord, it seems to go in but not all the way. to me it seen like it goes in halfway. and so i hook it up to my computer and nothing happend. nothings happens when i go look for it's file on "m ycomputer". what should i do! is there another way to upload videos? i have a usb cord! is there another way besides that?

  1. The JVC GR-DVM70 is a miniDV tape based camcorder.

    I don't think it uses USB for anything - it does not have a memory card and does not do video streaming. It stores stills to the tape.

    I hope you are not pushing too hard on the cable into your computer - you may be trying to push a 4-pin firewire cable into USB on your computer - and you could end up breaking the cable and your computer.

    Refer to page for connecting to 72 for connecting to a PC. I'm going to guess your PC is new enough where it does not have the RS-232 jack... and it may not have a firewire port - Firewire, i.Link, DV and IEEE1394a are all the same thing. You need to install a firewire400 port on your computer. If you are using a Mac, you probably already have one. You will also have to get a DV (firewire, IEEE1394a, i.Link) cable. It did not come in the box. You will need a 4-pin (camera DV port) to 6-pin (computer firewire port) firewire cable.
