Jvc everio gz 130...........?

I,ve got one of these and for some reason my pc will not recognise it, windows has a problem with it suprise suprise. Anyone got any suggestions other than throwing it at the shop that sold it to me?! incidentally, my mac has no problem with it whatsoever, but my mac does not have a dvd burner.
