Jvc rx-e100rsl home cinema control center

Question

i can't seem tp get my sub woofer to work. all speakers are connected up to the home cinema control center with connecting wire from the system to sub woofer - power is on but no sound it all appears ok. can u help? i may need to pick your brains. i have the mauals for the system and woofer but like most blokes can';t seem to understand them!
