Kévin Peponnet, Julien Lebrun hold on to top place on Day 6: 470 Junior European Championship 2011
France’s 470 Men’s sailing team has secured a strong position after a convincing sail on Day 6 of 470 Junior European Championship 2011 at Nieuwpoort in Belgium. The French pair is likely to grab the gold medal at the end of the championship to earn their
most desired achievement, as they had to settle for a silver in the 2011 Junior Worlds.
Day 6 only managed to feature one race out of the three scheduled due to light weather conditions. The 10th race completed under an eight to 10-knot breeze which gusted over the race course.
The France’s Kévin Peponnet and Julien Lebrun have sailed brilliantly so far in the tournament to ensure their place on top to grab the gold medal. They now have to show another splendid performance in the medal race to walk away with their best achievement.
The pair have taken an impressive lead in 2011 470 Junior European Championship over the second placed compatriots, Gabriel Skoczek, and Achille Nebout.
