  1. Its a scary thought for the batters who have to face him when the game is on the line. Thats for sure. This guy is hands down the best closer in the game right now and at only 26 years of age I wouldn't be surprised to see him crush the saves record. He is infact the youngest player in MLB history to reach 100 saves. He is so durable and the ironic thing is his delivery is so vicious I'm surprised that he has been healthy. This guy's intensity is unparalleled. His determination is second to none. The way he is pitching right now he is an early favorite to win the AL Cy Young Award and will shatter the single season saves mark.

  2. whether coincidental or intentional, it's nice to see that little (deleted expletive) get some recognition. Whatever team one roots for, if it's not the angels, one is terrified to contemplate K-rod coming in to pitch the ninth. And if he breaks the record, he will deserve it. All speculation and parallels with thigpen are merely conjecture. I'm not an angels fan, but i gotta give him his due.

  3. How would it not be a coincidence? Maybe it has some sort of symbolism for him, but it's not like his number is going to help him in save situations.

  4. I have to agree with insane. The Angels are my team and I would love to see K-Rod break the saves record but I also wonder how his arm will be in the near future. Most Angels’ wins have been close games because of the offense. We need one more big bat to limit the amount of save situations. Like I said, I would love to see K-Rod break the record but not at the expense of weakening the bullpen.

As for the number, if he changes it to the new saves record, then we know it wasn't coincidence.

  5. That is the reason he picked 57

  6. Maybe that is why he wears the number?  And he might break it, but not crush it.  Many times people approach a record very quickly, only to break it slightly, ex.) Tom Brady and the touchdown record.  He is a pitcher, so expect him to slow down in the ending months of the season, and if they are a lock for the playoffs the team will use him less often, so expect him to break it, not shatter it.

  7. 57 has been a record since before K-Rod began in the league.  He may have used that number for his jersey for that reason.  Or maybe he justs like 57 and it's a coincidence.  What are you thinking not its not some amazing coincidence.

  8. The scary thought is what happened to Bobby Thigpen after he crushed the record.  If K-Rod pitches that much and uses his arm that much this season, then I expect him to end up like Bobby Thigpen, with a useless arm next year.  That 57 save season ruined Thigpen.  Imagine what "Crushing" that record is going to do to K-rod?

The Angels horrid offense is going to kill the length of the careers of their pitchers.

  9. I think He is Using Steriods

    And he should

    Be kicked out

    of baseball
