K guys .. final decision ..?

Question

Alright, I think my husband and I have narrowed it down. We'll probably change our minds again but hey. Lol. Okay, so we're having twins - a girl and a boy.

The girl's name will be Greta Rose.

The boy's name will be Anton Edel.

Edel and Rose are both family names, but they won't be used very often so I'd like if you just commented on the first names.

What do you think of Greta? of Anton? And how do they go together?

well they dont really go well together but i dont like it when twins names go together, and i mean they are okay but they will get made fun of.

I like the name Greta you dont hear that name very offten. which is a good name cus you dont want 10 girls with the same name is one class like I did well maybe not 10 but it seemed like it. good luck and s***w the girl that said that Greta was a bad name.

I love that you're using Greta.  The old fashioned names are very cute to me.  Anton is good, too, but not really my taste.  I think Greta sounds traditional and Anton sounds new-aged, but I'm not sure.  I like the middle names that you chose.  They really flow well!  :)  Congratulations on your twins!

Alexia Rose, Alexander Edel... too confusing to have similar first names?  My dad and his twin sister are Phillip and Phyllis, and I think it was okay though...

No, I don't like either name, sorry. Greta just sounds a little rough, that's all. Anton is alright, but doesn't go with the middle name you have in mind. JMO.

I understand Edel is a family name, but I don't like that one. Where does it come from? Edel is the German word for noble, but we don't use it as a name over here at all (eta: last name yes, but not first). Reminds me of Edelweiss.

Greta and Anton, very nice. Both sound German. Both have been used for over a century at least. And of course, like with Anthony, Tony can be a nickname for Anton if you like that.

They don't match, but they "go". I think that's what every parent of a twin should be looking for. Excellent choices!

Greta Rose is probably one of the best names I've heard since forever! It's absolutely gorgeous and so ridiculously beautiful - honestly! But I'd have to disagree with Anton Edel, I don't know what it is but I just don't seem to like it all that much. Perhaps you choose one or another and mix it with another name?
