  1. There are ALOT of brochures and websites containing information on how people with disabilities including learning disabilities, can balance their lives.... (work and personal)

Perhaps you should talk to a teacher you trust at school about it and do some personal research!

  2. Contact your state dept of labor center in your city. They have info about helping people with disabilties get jobs, and training for them and how to keep them.

I have a daughter in teh same boat as you and I'm going to try this for her!

  3. You are hearing from another 18 year old who also has a learning disability works hard at school and gets good grades. Even though I have applied for several part-time jobs and have not gotten accepted into any of them I can definitely understand where you are coming from. It is hard to juggle high school and a part-time job at the same time. If you want to keep your job just don't forget about school but realize that you work hard and that you will for sure make it through. Maybe try to relax more when you get home from work and school in the night time. Take a bath, read a book, play a game, watch TV, watch a movie, etc. And definitely be sure to get enough sleep! They recommend that 13-21 year olds get between 7 to 9 hours of sleep for a full night's rest. If this does not work out then maybe quit your part-time job for now. When you resign to the employer he or she should be very supportive and understanding when you explain that you are busy with school and that is all you should really have to say! If you have a full class load or a lot of homework you can mention that as well just don't go into a ton of information. There will be better and more numerous job opportunities for you once you get out of school and if i might suggest one is medial transcription which is a rather new occupation that I have heard about. If you are a fast typer and work well with word processor then maybe that might be a good job for you. You don't even need a college education that is what I have heard just a few vocational certfifcate programs. It pays up to $45 an hour sometimes. Well I hope I have helped you out today and I hope you have a successful future!

  4. the teachers might Think you didn't get enough education really.

  5. It would not be a good idea to push your body past what it could handle. If you can't have a job and do school too it would be best not to try.
