i got an 03 civic si with a k-24 from a honda accord, now i want to get a engine cover, manifold cover and spark plug cover. could i use any cover from any k-series engine like the covers from the k20 of a civic si.

another question the k24 that i have on my car is not vtec how come i though all honda engines were vtec? now to make it vtect i have to change the head

from which vtec engine would be the best head to match my engine?

  1. the valve cover and such will fit. but you might as well just get a new head and make it vtec and use the cover that comes on that one. id go with the head off of a TSX cause i think those are vtec. if not find another Si motor. i wouldnt advise putting a k20 head on because really. a 2.0l head going on a 2.4l block? theres slight bore issues there. not worth the money. unless its off a k20a from a type r. then id consider it. if you can even bore it over that much. im not sure when it comes to k series. im more of a b series kinda guy :)

  2. well first of all you shouldnt of put that engine in that car you should of got the tsx k24 then put the k20a2 which is the rsx type s head and made it a frankenstein and not all honda motors are vtec as you figured out from experience i would say to put the rsx type s head on the k24 you have

  3. why in gods name would you put a k24 into your civic?

and a non vtec one at that???

ill have to call bs on this one because the civic si engine was already a k20 vtec with 160hp.  to put a non vtec k into it and be at about the same power level is just crazy..
