Question:

K-six one Tour 90 or AeroPro?

I'm an intermediate level player. I use an eastern forehand grip and also use a two-handed backhand. Currently I use the Babolat Drive Z Lite Cortex. I'm looking for a racquet with more control rather than power so I can achieve greater consistency. I'm a strong baseliner looking to improve at the net. Unfortunately I'm only able to source the K-six one Tour 90 or AeroPro in my country. Which would be better to take me to the next level?

  1. The AeroPro without Cortex. Definitely.

The Aeropro with Cortex lacks feel. The Six One Tour is good only if you're really, really good. It's accurate, but the sweet spot is small, and it's unforgiving on off-center shots.

  2. Seeing that you are an intermediate player, I would say the aeropro drive because k-six-one 90 is a racket for very high level players.

  3. the babolat aero pro drive cortex (nadals racket) because it has good control, it is very manuvarable, the k six one tour 90 is just too heavy( federers racket) get nadals racket

  4. Definitely the Babolat Aeropro. I am quite familiar with the racquet. It has a large, very generous sweet spot and great topspin, good for the solid baseliner. It also has a very solid feel at the net with a suprising service power generated by its flat and heavy design.

    Hope This Helps!

  5. The k6.1 would probably be a better fit. It has a much better mobility and maneuverability at the net than the aeropro. The 90 sq in head will give you much more control than the 100 sq of the aeropro. Both have though a relatively open string pattern which should let you hit with more spin. Even though the kTour is much heavier, its crazy head light (9pts compared to the Aero's 5 pts). Just be aware that coupled with the small head size, the k6.1 has a very small sweet spot. Your strokes are going to have to be spot on, but when it is, its a very sweet racquet. If you don't use alot of topspin, you might want to try the k6.1 95. It has a dense 18x20 string pattern and might be more suited to your eastern grip. Definitely demo and see for yourself which racquet you like more. You probably be well off to demo the Pure Storm as well from Babolat.
