K3 Visa help..?

I am indian citizen and my wife is in US(California). she has green card and she has interview for citizenship on 3rd june. We married on 27th Jan 2005 and filed for I130 in April 2005. (Petition is still in process). we desided to file K3 visa after she becomes citizen. she is comming to india after getting her US passport. so what will be the steps for us to file k3 visa and how long does it take after she comes india(approximate time).

While your wife can file a K-3 petition after she becomes a US citizen, it can only be filed in the US through USCIS. Once she becomes a citizen, she needs to inform USCIS that she has a petition already filed for you so that they can upgrade it from F2a to IR-1 in their data system and inform the National Visa Center to start processing it. In actuality, that should be faster than filing a new K-3 in any case. But the processing time will likely take several months or more before it can be sent out to the embassy or consulate. If she's not there to respond to the NVC's request for an Affidavit of Support and processing fees, it could delay you even longer.

If she did file a K-3, it would take a number of months, six months or more, before it was processed and sent out. None of this is handled very quickly, and it's all but impossible to predict precisely how long it will take.
