KEF IQ7 booming effect?

i'm interested in buying KEF IQ7 speakers, my room size is 11 ft * 16 ft and doubt whether they sound well in my room. coz i went thru one of a review finding that IQ7 makes a booming effect for that room size. Is that true? any Kef users pls help me....

  1. all rooms have different acoustical qualities. For example the type of furniture,carpet drapes ect. can affect it. remidies include not placing speakers in the corner ,or not to close to a wall. Even turning bass setting lower. I suggest checking to see if you could use them on a trial basis.


  2. The guy above is right. However I wouldn't be too concerned about the size of your room.

    More over you need to look your layout.

    What kind of flooring do you have, what kind of furniture placement. speaker position, etc.

    And most important how do you want to power these speakers?

    You can get away with good mid range receiver in at around $1000. Denon and Yamaha exploited those speakers well when I used them. The Yamaha RXV-1800 and up or the Denon AVR-2808 and up would be a good start.
