I received the Kenwood KDC-x491 a couple of days ago. It has been installed in my 1997 Audi A6 with Bose system. It all seems to work properly, and is just what I expected, except there is a problem with a noise. When it is switched on there is a LOUD click in the speakers on any source except the tuner. The tuner seems to be fine. But when switching from the tuner to USB (even when there is no USB connected), to CD, or to AUX (AUX is turned on and an MP3 player connected) there is a LOUD click. In AUX the only time the click is heard is when it is first switched to AUX. However, when the source is switched to CD there is a loud click when it is first switched, when the first track begins to play, between each track, when pause is pressed, when pause is pressed a second time to release it, or when the CD is ejected. The volume setting has no effect on the loudness of the click noise. The noise is in all four channels. I am using the pre-outs with the Bose system amps. When the unit is turned off, no matter which source is playing, there is also a click, though it is much softer. All of this occurs whether the engine is running or not. The clidk noise is loud enough that it is not only extremely annoying, but I suspect it could damage the speakers, especially if it continues. Please help. I can't live with this.
