Question:

KEY SOCIAL ISSUES IN THE CATCHER in the RYE?

Okay, I'm doing an honors essay on the Catcher in the Rye. I have one thing that is about the major conflict in the story. The main conflict would basically be how "phony" Holden thinks everyone is and I've explained that. I'm not supposed to say what the social issue is, but I can't really think of any other major issue because if you've read the book.. you know that the plot is just Holden telling the reader different stories about his life.

Can you please help me out?

Thanks ahead for the help!
